State of the Union Stimulus

We watched the State of the Union last night which was as usual a great display of the American Democratic system at work with both the Senate and the House of Representatives, which writes the laws for the United States and the Supreme Court which dichphers the laws and the percieved intent of the legislators and of course the President who is the Excutive responsible for implemnting the laws and protecting the Constitution which is the foundation on which the goverment of the United States rests. The president is required under the constitution to give a annual report of the State of the Union.

As a American we have never known a different system and President Obama explained the different times when it looked like the American form of Democracy was in danger.  For people outside of the US it must seem a amazing thing to watch as large and unwieldy as it is that it works as well as it does despite the seemingly pandemonium of everyone going in their own directions yet coming together every year for this report.

Jobs and Energy were main focus points for the president ands we believe strongly that this should be the case we are however not happy to hear of the revival of Nuclear and anytime we hear clean coal we want to scream as only a real idiot would ever believe that coal can be made into a clean source of fuel.  All these decades wasted since President Carter tried to push towards research and implementation of laws that helped in developing these needed technologies.  Wind Solar & Geothermal should be given the same priorities as the Manhattan project or the man on the moon program if America is to continue to be The Leader of the free world.

Stimulus, Energy, Health Care, Employment and Trees

Well  the Democrats were givin a huge upset yesterday when they lost the seat that the lion of the seante had held for generations, and the reason they lost it boiled down to the disconnect of law makers and the people that elected them, and their concerns about jobs and the deficet.

We have suggested that the goverment as part of the stimulous package of bills past last year that they include a project to plant fruit trees in poor neighborhoods Too simple an idea until you really start to look at it.

Getting kids to eat more fruit goes a long way towards getting them to eat more healthy Most 7-11 you can't find anything that doesn't have salt fat and empty carbs.  Imiaging walking down the street and it has a ton of apple trees or pear trees and   fresh fruit there for the plucking.

Put the guys that are comming back form Iraq and Afganistan to work and give them a chance to decompress doing something enjoyable like planting trees.
